As a result of our project, we created a stylish and modern website that shows why Nordic Caraway is wearing the biggest crown in the caraway production business.

Nordic Caraway is a Finnish company that produces caraway, which is an apiaceae. Caraway seeds are used, for example, in spices, food, alcohol beverages, and cosmetics, and they can be grinded, used as a whole, or refined to oil.

Today, the growing of caraway covers over 20 000 hectares of land in Finland, so it’s safe to say that caraway is a BIG DEAL. We had no idea about this before we started our cooperation. Nordic Caraway is the largest caraway producer in the world, and our mission was to create a website and a leaflet that would proudly serve the market leader of caraway business.

Caraway carried us away

Bermuda joined the story of Nordic Caraway by creating new key messages, a tone of voice, and a visual look, which together built the base for the website and the leaflet. As the projects proceeded and we visited the largest caraway factory in the world where the smell of caraway dazzled all of us, we understood our customer better and better. It was especially interesting to realize how many ways caraway can be used even though the plant seemed quite moderate at first glance.

Then there was a website

We started to construct the website by building an attention-drawing body of the story and business of Nordic Caraway. The best way to do this was to create a one-pager where all the information is easily found with a couple of scrolls. Since remaining as the leading producer of caraway requires a precise sieving process and homogeneous end product, we wanted to make these tools of the trade the heroes of the website. The website and its content mimics the life cycle of caraway, starting from the fields and ending up to refining the seeds in the factory and perfecting the process into new products.

Since 99 percent of the caraway travels from Finland to all around the world, we made the website in English. As a result of fierce brainstorming, our team decided that the key message should be ”Focus on flavour”. It sums up the attitude of Nordic Caraway and caraway itself in a perfectly fragrant way.

As a result of our project, we created a stylish and modern website that shows why Nordic Caraway is wearing the biggest crown in the caraway production business.

The written word stands its ground

After the renovated website had taken its place in the empire of Nordic Caraway, the next step was to create a leaflet to be handed out for customers and caraway enthusiasts in fairs and other events. The planning process of the leaflet was straightforward because we structured it the same way as the website. We accepted the challenge cheerfully. Since a whole website can’t be printed to a leaflet and expect it work the same way it does in the internet, we had to think a way to make them look alike but work together as individuals. We overcame the challenge with a stunning result.

The website and the leaflet truly support each other. You can now find loads of information fast from the internet, but you can also open a physical leaflet and almost smell the caraway and imagine yourself in the middle of a serene caraway field. The written word stands its ground.
